Hey Alana :)
I tried to email the group that has the bus to the DMZ and I left a comment on their FB page but no one has gotten back to me. How did you get in touch with them? I'm finally officially signed up for the thing... took forever. They are kinda disorganized :S I KNEW I paid correctly~!

Yo, lady! Thank god for my overpriced gym... with this heat, humidity, pollution, and crazy schedule, I'm really happy to have an air-conditioned guaranteed run plus weight training. I neglected that in my other 2 halfies, so I hope this will help me reach my sub 2:00 goal!! Sooo excited! The website for the half-marathon is http://nanoria.net/ by the way. Let me know when you find anything out. I'm soooo pumped!!

Hey Alana!! How are you?? I've been so crazy busy lately with work. It's killing me! I feel like a retard, but I still don't understand how I can pay for my DMZ and half-marathon races!! Do I do it at like an ATM??

This might sound like a totally dumb question, but how do I transfer money to pay for the half and DMZ runs?? Do I have to go to my bank?? I just joined a gym and I have a feeling they screwed me... I thought it would be 150,000 KRW for 3 months, but I paid 406,000 KRW. I'm having my friend look into it for me and I might raise hell. I love the gym, but I feel like they signed me up for like the VIP membership or something. That's just way to expensive, even for Daechi. It was soooo good to hit the weights today though. I'm pumped about the race!!

Hey Alana
I am soo sorry I have not wrote you sooner. I was away this weekend and everything has been crazy busy. How are you doing? It seems like it has been a long time. We should plan a run soon...maybe next Tuesday? Let me know what you think!!

Hey Alana :) How are you doing?? Grrrr, this rain is totally ruining my training! Do you run even when it's pouring outside? If not, do you belong to a gym around here? I'm joining Human Active across from Lotte Dept Store tomorrow or Thursday (after pay day!). Anyway, just seeing how you're doing :)

You read my email right??? That I had to work today and that's why I couldn't run? I JUST got home from work. For some reason I couldn't get on this site at work. I hope you don't think I stood you up or something!!

Yup, I'm signed up for the DMZ run. I emailed that address Anina discovered and they emailed me back this morning with the bank information. Can you give me the bank info for the 10/2. I have a kinda strange question... when you run in areas far away from home, do you just take the subway all sweaty or do you take a cab home? How are you getting to Namsan? That sounds great to me... I hope I don't slow you guys down!

Okay, I'm pretty sure I signed up for the 10/2 competitive half, but still no word on how I pay. I need your info to sign you up... address, alien #, phone #, email address, and whether you want dried seaweed or sunglasses as a prize (I'm not even kidding, haha)!

It looks like Anina already solved the problem for the DMZ race. I'm going to send them an email right now. I'll let you know the updates for the 10/2 race. What distance are you going to do for the DMZ race???? I'm so torn!
Don't worry about Saturday morning runs... believe me, it usually doesn't work out that way. Maybe we can do Saturday evenings instead? This Saturday there's no trip to the shelter, so I'll be around. You, me, and Anina need to get together for a beer or coffee sometime! Let me know your schedule if you're down :)

hey - well I managed to get through to the people at DMZ who couldn't really tell me much other than an e-mail addy. I'll let you know about any developments, there is a taebaek run on 26th July. They're still accepting applicants up until the 16th of this month but there is no way to register but online. I tried muddling my way through but wasn't successful :( am gonna get my husband to ask one of his co-teachers to have a squiz.

The website is http://nanoria.net/ ... unfortunately they don't have a link that will take you directly to the application. Directly underneath the main flash image on top on the left hand side there is a box with a pic of a microphone and lists D-82, D-39, etc? Click "more," scroll down to October (10) and it's the first one, for 10/2/09. Oh! And by the way, starting Saturday 25th I'm going to do long runs early in the morning (7-ish) if you care to join :)

Haha, no way! I signed up for the damn half marathon, but only maxed out at about 8-10 miles for my very inconsistent training because it was kind of a shitty time for me. I was going to just not going to do it, but I thought what the hell, I can always walk! One thing I can say for sure is that it was mostly mental. Just the will and the sheer determination to finish, and I miraculously got just over 2:00! It was definitely hell! I couldn't walk comfortably for about a week, even though I had done about 10-13 miles before. I guess what I'm saying Alana is you will surprise yourself! Compete! It's not like they're going to stop the race at 1:30 or something, haha. Even consistent trainers are sometimes slow! You can beat at least SOME.

Well, my first half-marathon I kind of just jumped in and I was really proud to have done it and I did a lot better than I thought! So I just wanted to sign up and hope for the best. We have 86 days to go! It's not in English... can you read Korean? I can definitely send you the link or sign up for you. I believe I signed up, but it didn't ask for a payment! I emailed the support to ask how I pay... I'll let you know. I'm DEFINITELY doing the DMZ run, even if it's just the 10k. That's too amazing an experience to pass up!

I found out how to sign up for the 10/2 race. We don't need a Korean ID number, foreigners can sign up. It's 30,000 KRW for competitive half and 25,000 for "friendly" half. I did competitive, which means I'll be dead last :P You still want to sign up??

Hey..Ok so 7:30 AT COEX mall subway stop...is that a station name? I am not familiar with it. So if so just let me know which exit and station name and I will be there. Also, do you have a cell number in case my boss changes my time to be off work? I am supposed to be off at 6pm but that could possibly change to 7pm...and if it does I will text you to inform you. Let me know..chat soon!!
