Running in Korea

.."JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT"..

Hi. I'm trying to get myself back into running but in the process have developed what I believe is 'runner's knee'. For that reason and others, I'm in search of a place that sells good quality running gear (insoles, shoes, etc) and possibly has someone there to examine foot-fall, etc. It's hard enough finding my shoe brand, maybe my hopes are too high?

Yeah, I know the website's in Korean . . . I just clicked around until I found a map. Here's a JPG of a Google map I made.

I just went today (it was closed). I went out of exit 2 and went straight. You'll pass the lake on either side of you. After you pass the lake, turn left at the intersection. Follow the road with the lake on your left. When you get to the end of the lake, the running store is on the right. You won't see it right away though because it's not right on that road. You can see it from the road, but it's set back a bit. You have to go down what seems to be an apartment building driveway to get to a little parallel street. It's easy enough to see from the main road.
Sorry if the directions aren't clear. I walked around a bit to find it.

Mandy,
How do I get there? I looked on the website and see the address on the bottom, but do you know what landmarks are nearby the store to look for?

Hey Rebecca,

I'm extremely new to running, but I found a store that might offer what you're looking for (at least in terms of analysis). Last week, after I started running I noticed my foot was sore and went looking for some insoles for arch support. I went to Fleet Runners inbetween Jamsil and Olympic Park . . . the link's on the main page of this group. They analyzed my feet and it turns out I have a high arch and a flat foot . . . they didn't have the insoles I needed in my size, but they said they'd order some in for me. They also have a treadmill with a electronic video camera which I think is set up for examining foot fall, but as a newbie, I'm not sure.

All I know is that this store seems to be on the high-end, and the guy who does the foot analysis spoke fairly good English (better than many of the Korean English teachers at my public school).

I hope this helps.
