Running in Korea

.."JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT"..

Hi all,

I'm trying to find the registration information for the Dong-A Marathon in March - the website still shows from 2007 - for that race the registration was open from Nov1, 2006, so I'm thinking we should be able to regsiter sometime around now for next year. Anybody have any recent info?

Also, my wife and I will be moving somewhere in Gangnam in December - I work in Yangjae, she works near Gangnam-gu Office station - does anyone have any info about running on those big hills in that area - any decent trails (distance, trail quality, best point of access, etc).

I look forward to meeting you all in the future.

Lee

I got a call today from Donga , Seoul Int. marathon, verifying my entry. That was a first! I got a Korean to register me and it was quite simple. But they also speak great English so you can call.

I'll put up the website particulars tomorrow in our new Calendar, want to start getting some races, basic info. up there and contact info.

Lee,

I know every little path and cranny! I own those hills! A bit tricky now with the leaves, hiding the footing. Can be dangerous off the "beaten" path.
But great running and I'm sure a few other members can attest to them getting the best of them...I had a few runs from my place which is on Umeongsan, just the next hill from Yangjae (the baby mountain), towards the Seoul Arts Center. Even better is the next one, behind Seoul Nat. university, Gwanaksan....that is mountain running at its best. I can run there for 4-5 hours no problem, no people.

Whatever I can do with helping you settle etc....just ask. I'm in the area.

Cheers,

David
