Rebecca McCarthy Runner's store in Seoul?

Hi. I'm trying to get myself back into running but in the process have developed what I believe is 'runner's knee'. For that reason and others, I'm in search of a place that sells good quality running gear (insoles, shoes, etc) and possibly has someone there to examine foot-fall, etc. It's hard enough finding my shoe brand, maybe my hopes are too high? alana smith Ready to Race

Hi, I am fairly new to Korea (9 months in), and I am looking to find some races to compete in. I've competed in 5ks, 10ks, and a half marathon, and now I am training for my first marathon! I have searched all over the web for races in Seoul, but I haven't been able to find many. Anyone know of a good website or just race days that are coming up? Also I would really love to find a running partner. I run about 3 or 4 days a week and usually run between 4-7 miles. Anybody interested? I live in Daec… Continue

Derrick Eddleston Trying to get back

I haven't been running much over the last few months. I have lived in three countries in the last 4 months, in 6 different locations, so finding a rhythm has been tricky. The air pollution in Seoul hasn't been great, either, but I am adapting. I am looking forward to getting another marathon notch this year, so I have to get my butt in gear! Any advice about running in Seoul would be awesome. Look forward to meeting some fellow runners, once I feel okay counting myself in that category again! Continue

Kerrie Doerr Seoul Internation Marathon Questions

Hello, New to Seoul and now I have the itch to run another marathon. Thinking about training for the Dong-A International Marathon in March. I would like to find a training partner, especially for those lovely long runs. I ran my first marathon in 4:03 and am looking to beat that time, hypothetically around the 3:45 range. I live in Mokdong and work as an English teacher in the afternoons so I am free anytime during the mornings in the week and on the weekends. Also, does anyone know when regi… Continue

Runfab Oxfam Japan Trailwalker 100K. We need your donation!

My Company has entered 5 Teams into the 100K Oxfam Trailwalker Japan and I am in one of the Teams. 100K it is not an easy distance and not a distance that normally we would challenge. Having done part of the Trailwalker course as training we already know that this 100K will not be easy. On top of the distance there are the terrain and the elevation that will make the challenge difficult. Nevertheless our Team knows there is a just cause to go for it. The physical effort is su… Continue

juergen wittstock Worldcup Stadium Seoul 5k/Marathon

I won the 5k at Worldcup Stadium today, in a ridiculously slow 18:45. I had wanted to run 10k, but Jae had only a number for the 5... never mind, it was a good practice, and, as I started from the back, still a reasonable result, and good to win.

Team-mate Chris Doll finished the full marathon in 2:50:40, placing sixth over-all.

And do you guys see what a Japanese cell-phone can do? Uploaded the pic straight from the venue!

Crystal Chuncheon logistics

Hey all,

Here is a fairly accurate time table of the trains to/from NamChuncheon:

http://www.iccn.co.kr/zz_iccn/english/we14521_0.html

There is a charter bus leaving from Seoul, but you must finish the race and be on the bus to return in 5 hours from the starting time. I'd rather take my time, eat, shower, etc before heading back on a sweaty bus right after the finish. I just bought my train ticket today a

Jae Kim Warming up to the cool season~

Well... the weather finally has cooled down enough to start runs at 8 a.m. or even later. Now the excuse will be it's too cold/cool to go running...

I would say get out there today and the next time it will be easier and the more often you get out and run, easier each time it will likely be.

Chuncheon and JoongAng marathon runners really need to start planning to wind down their training and make sure that you can handle the 42.195km dual between you and the road.
