Hi BJ,
I was just wondering if I could come to your office to meet you and talk about some ultramarathons. I'm sure that the only one I will do in 2008 is Ilsan 12 hour in December, but I want to get info about races you know about for 2009. I don't work next Monday or Tuesday (the 23rd and 24th). If you have a bit of free time either of those days, I can take you for a coffee near your office and pick your brain.
If neither of these days work for you, maybe we could arrange something in July. You can email me at leesmith_@hotmail.com.
Thanks.

Hi BJ, Thanks for writing back so quickly. I can't access this website from my server - it says forbidden access. Maybe if I knew more about computers I could figure it out!
Can you give my email to the race director, and I can try to get more information and register through him. My email is leesmith_@hotmail.com.
Thanks again.

Hi BJ,
I hope everything is good with you. I had asked you before about ultras in December and January, and you mentioned the Busan Beach Ultra in Jan. 2009. You also suggested a 12 hour run in Ilsan on December 20th. I can't get on the website you said - can you send me more information, either on here or to my email - leesmith_@hotmail.com. I am very sure my wife and I both want to try this 12 hour run.
Thanks - talk to you soon.

Dear Lee Smith,

It is understandable that anyone who came from the flat part of the world hates the hilly course for the running. Unfortunately there is no race or races during the later part of Dec except 12 hour race at Ilsan, which will be on the 20th of Dec. Suggest you visit www.ilsan12h.co.kr. Otherwise it will be wise to run the Busan Beach Ultra Marathon, the first big even in the year of 2009. No details yet on the website. For your information, the dame was held this year on the 12th of Jan. Suggest you visit www.bbu.com. Good luck !! Regards BJ

Hey BJ,
Thanks for the reply. Running on Namsan?! Yikes! We are from the flattest part of Canada, and running on hills is something we are trying to get used to.
The date of the race in Busan sounds better, as we will probably be away from Korea on holiday for a few weeks over Christmas and New Year. Do you know of anything in Seoul in the first two weeks of December? I think I remember hearing that there was a 6 hour race in early December last year.
Thanks again,
Lee

Hi BJ,
Sorry I haven't had a chance to meet you personally yet. I would love to hear some of the stories you must have after all those ultras!
My wife and I are starting to plan our running year, and hoped to do an ultra in early December (I know - still a long time away) or in January 2009. It will be only my second ultra, and my wife's first. So I wondered if you knew of any races that far ahead? THe sooner we know, the sooner we can write it on our calendar and commit to training properly.
Thanks,
Lee
