I agree with Joe. It sounds like you have really had a difficult time recently and haven't been able to get much training in. Rest and allow your body to recuperate. There is no shortage of half-marathons to run in Korea. You'll be much happier wh...
I've been sick with a multitude of things (stomach virus, strep, cough, and most recently a killer eye infection) but I'm scheduled to do my 3rd half-marathon on Friday. Is it best for me just to sit out the race until I've fully recovered from th...
I am new to this blog running thing here in Korea, but run a lot doen on the river. I would like to run a half marathon this October, know of one that starts in Seoul?
you can check via your bank records who the money went to. either update your passbook or use the atm . assume you have a korean in your office who can help. these races are usually cool about this stuff have them call and beg, i actually signed u...
No worries, Chuck, jump in any time. Thanks for the info.
I'm soooooo frustrated right now. I paid for the DMZ race and they're saying I didn't. My Korean isn't good enough to figure out what went wrong, who my money went to, and how I can still ...
sorry to jump in again between you two but this may help, i found these numbers on the english version of the website 02-723-1666~7, 02-3210-1666~7 maybe they can be of help
you two running the race on the 29th of this month? there are few from t...
Charis! Were you able to confirm yet about the DMZ race? We phoned this number to confirm: 02-723-1666. They can let you know if you are all set for it.
Also I definitely paid for the half marathon, but I no longer have the website or ANY other in...
Charis! How was your weekend? So I actually ended up e-mailing the girl that Chuck told us about on facebook. She is really kind, and has already told me that she will save a seat for me on the bus. She's going to let me know the details when she ...
Charissa! I totally hear you on the crazy busy work thing. I feel like I barely have time to run anymore!
When I signed up for the half marathon, I just went to an ATM and typed in the bank number that I gave you. All you do is select the amount you want to transfer, and you're good to go.
Speaking of which, I actually cannot find that website with the half marathon race anywhere, so I can't phone the bank to make sure they got my payment. Do you have the address??
Did you sign up for the DMZ one yet?
Charis! I am SOOO super sorry that I haven't written until now. Work is crazy, because our break is coming up soon. Lots to do before than!
Anyways, you can go to any bank and just type in the account number that I gave you. It will ask you how much you want to transfer, and you just put in the amount! Super simple.
I still haven't heard back about the DMZ run. Let me know if you figure that out!
Man, it definitely sounds like the gym messed something up. What gym did you join? I'm thinking about joining one too. How big is your's? Hope you figure things out!
Charis! The rain does put a damper on my work out as far as speed and/or distance. I actually love running in the rain, but I am a little scared of slipping or something, so I tend to go a bit slower! The path I usually go on was also flooded a few days ago, so I wasn't able to measure my distance. Sooo other than that, I usually keep on schedule with things.
I am actually really contemplating joining a gym as well. What is the one you are joining? I want to join a really cheap one, just to get some weights in and also do some cross training once a week or so. How much is that gym? There is a TINYYYY one down my street for like 140,000 every 3 months, I think.
ALso did you sign up for the DMZ race? I sent them an e-mail, but I didn't hear back yet. I have no clue if I'm signed up or not. Did you transfer money to that bank yet? Ry and Iooked for it, but we didn't find it.
Oh no, no, no! I got your e-mail this morning. I was leaving, so I didn't respond. No worries, I knew that you had to work. That stinks, but I hope that you had a good Saturday despite having to work!
Charis! So I think I am signed up for the 10/2, and I plan on going to an atm tonight to transfer the funds. I left the paper I had with the bank info on it at home, so I will send that to you tonight.
The DMZ run I also sent an e-mail to that address Anina had, so hopefully, I will hear from them soon too. I am also asked her about the race on the 26th that she entered, because I would love to do that one as well.
As far as being sweaty and riding the subways, I go for that. It's cheaper and I don't really care about being gross. Well, I do a little.....just not enough to stop me! I generally run around here though, since that path is so close, so I've only had to do that a few times.
So Saturday's a go!! I'm excited and nervous! I just don't wanna get my butt kicked. Should we plan on taking the subway up there and leave around 4? I asked Anina and Rebecca as well, so we might have quite the crew.
Hope you are having a good week. Bye-Bye.
Would you be interested in running up Namsan Tower this Saturday? We could do a late afternoon run if you are up for it. Rebecca and I had discussed it a few weeks ago. Let me know!
Charis! Thanks for getting back to me. My co-worker actually figured out how to sign up for the Oct. 2 race last night, so I am good to go on that one! Thanks so much for your help and your willingness to go the extra mile to help me. She also phoned the race place, and they said that you had to transfer the money into the bank (it's on the website, but if you can't find it, I will send it to you). They said that once the money is transferred, they will send you a pack with all the race stuff you'll need (your number, chip, perhaps our sunglasses will be in there too!).
As far as the DMZ race, I had no luck with that one. I will do the 10k for that one. Did you say you already signed up? I can't remember......
