.."JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT"..

Is anyone else doing the 10/2/09 Marathon/Half Marathon/10k/5k?

I really want to do the half-marathon. That's Chuseok Friday, so I will have Saturday and Sunday to rest before going back to work. Also the weather will be perfect around that time. Anyone else planning on doing that race or want to? Let me know :)

if you are interested in a half/10k after chuseok there are 2 that look interesting, the hi seoul marathon: http://hiseoulmarathon.co.kr/english/ if you want to combine running with a festival the baekje one in gongju is nice little one, we lived there back in 1996 and the festival is nice, town is interesting and close to seoul here is a link: http://marathon.donga.com/baekje/baekje_e1.html

if you are up to it after a night of celebrating halloween this one sounds like fun http://marathon.joins.com/english/ they get like 25,000 runners for it. i'm signed up for the 10k already (EDIT: Whoops this one closed last week you may try calling them and see if there are openings). i'm toying with a half the weekend of oct 11 just not sure yet. chuncheon would have been nice but its only a full and closed

I gotta get in touch with them again to figure it out. I'm paying for that tomorrow. They don't speak English at the DMZ phone number but it's 02-723-1666.
When you figure out how to confirm for the half-marathon will you let me know? This website changed it's race calendar to some weird format I can't understand at all. Why... I have no clue :S
Anyway, I'll keep you updated. I just saw some pics of the DMZ run.. it's going to be AMAZING. I think we can actually look into North Korea (from a distance, of course). It's once in a lifetime, dude... AAAHHH! So excited!; ▶ Reply to This

She is really kind, and has already told me that she will save a seat for me on the bus. She's going to let me know the details when she finds out. You should definitely look her up on facebook and let her know you're interested in reserving a spot.
I finally paid for the DMZ race, so as far as I know, I am set for the 10k and the half marathon. Are you signed up and paid too?

I'm soooooo frustrated right now. I paid for the DMZ race and they're saying I didn't. My Korean isn't good enough to figure out what went wrong, who my money went to, and how I can still get into the race.
Also, I emailed the girl from that group and no one got back to me...
On top of that, I signed up for the wrong half-marathon and paid for IT... and I read Korean! So I'm 35,000 KRW out and not signed up for anything! :(; ▶ Reply to This
