Running in Korea

.."JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT"..

I was thinking of buying a Timex gps watch. It has a gps unit that you wear on your arm or belt. I was wondering if anyone has this item? Does it get good signals with all the tall buildings around? Does it track very good? Any help would be appreciated

Joe, have you decided on a watch?
I am looking for a good running watch myself. I'm leaning towards the Garmin 305.

I don't like the Timex. I never get a signal here in korea and the case broke a month after I bought it. I had to send it back to the manufacterer to get it repaced.

But my brother lives in the states and loves his. He uses it all the time and it tracks wonderfully.

My wife and I just got Garmin 405s. I have had it for about 3 weeks now. It has been pretty good and I would rate it at about 8/10. Problems: sometimes data doesn't transfer so well between the watch and the computer, there are icons which I cannot find an explanation for, if your fingers are wet (rain or sweat) the watch does not respond so well

Pluses: really good software support online, has an autopause feature that stops when you do (water bottle refill, washroom, whatever) and starts again, wide range of configurations for keeping data, seems to track quite well, can be bought with or without a heart monitor

Overall, I like it.
